James F. Wynn

James F. Wynn, 84, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21st, 2024. He was the son of the late John F. Wynn and Helen T. (Dwyer) Wynn. James grew up in North Providence and attended St. Theresa's School, graduated from Lasalle Academy in 1957, and attended Providence College in 1961. He was the Executive Director of Junior Achievment from 1964-67 and on the Summit Club board for several years. He was a self-employed plumber for most of his life before retiring about 15 years ago. He enjoyed watching the PC Basketall playoff run. He made many trips to NYC for the NIT and the 2015 PC Hockey NCAA World championship run in Providence and Boston. He also loved listening to the NY Yankees and the NY Giants broadcasts. He loved going to the PC Backetball and hockey games with his daughter before becoming ill. James also loved traveling, cooking and listening to many different kinds of music. He leaves behind a sister, Ellen Bushnell (Robert) from Onset, MA, a daughter Michaela from Cranston, a son Michael from Cary Plt, ME and many loving family and friends. James did not want a service but wanted a place for family and friends to gather to remember him by. The family will be having that at a later date. Details to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Blackstone River theater (brtri.org) in Cumberland. We would like to thank the staff at Arbor Hill Assisted Living n Providence, Elmhurst Rehab in Providence and Harmony Hospice for the loving care of James in his declining years. Services are private. Arrangements entrusted to the J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremations, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence. For online condolences kindly visit: Skeffingtonfuneralhome.com
