Jane P. (Ogden) Brailsford

80, of Halifax Drive, died Monday, September 3rd at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Russell Brailsford since 1956. Born in Dighton, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Clementine (Folsom) Ogden and sister of Louise DeSousa and the late Donald Ogden and Ellenor Pare. She was the beloved mother of Kathleen Tusia and Karen Hogan, and the adored grandmother of Elizabeth and Jack Hogan. During the 1960s, she worked for the RI State Council of Churches, actively promoting the Civil Rights Movement. She worked at the RI Hospital Trust National Bank for many years before devoting much time to volunteer activities, and spent 25 years at Kent County Hospital working in the Cardiac Care Unit. Calling hours are at J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home located at 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence on Thursday from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10am at the Warwick Central Baptist Church - 3270 Post Road, Warwick 02886. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Warwick Central Baptist Church, 3270 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886 or to RI Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
