Jean M. Hien

Jean Hien, 84 of Cranston, RI passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023. Jean is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Kluglein of Cranston, 2 granddaughters, Kimberly and Melissa Kluglein of Cranston, and her fur grandson Kilo Anthony, her beloved Yorkshire Terrier. Born in Providence, RI she was the daughter of the late John V. O'Neill and Morine Grubbs O'Neill, wife of the late Frederic A Hien Jr., and mother of the late Lori A. Hien.

Jean, otherwise known by her granddaughters as "Ham", was a loving, caring, and exceptional mother, wife, and grandmother. A graduate of Katherine Gibbs School, she began her career in advertising as a secretary. Her most important job, however, was being a devoted caretaker for her intellectually disabled daughter Lori, a job she did for 30 years without ever complaining. She was best known for her infectious smile and joyous personality. She loved everyone, and everyone loved her. Jean enjoyed reminiscing on her summers spent at Bonnet Shores Beach Club, reading books, solving puzzles, dancing with her granddaughters, and eating desserts. Above all, she loved the time she spent with her family.

Jean will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We will all continue to live by her motto "Be safe, and have fun".

Burial services will be private.
