Jean Marie Trottier
August 16, 1948 to September 17, 2022
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved mother, and grandmother Jean Marie Trottier. Jean was born on August 16th, 1948, in Providence, RI. She grew up in Pawtucket, RI with her 4 younger siblings, and it is also where she later raised her daughter and resided with her husband Kenny for 36 years. Jean worked in the hospitality industry for 25 years as the General Manager at Friendly’s in East Providence. While growing up as the oldest of 5 children, Jean made it a priority to always take care of everyone else in her family before herself. She was known to have a great sense of humor and enjoyed her time eating and drinking with family and friends. She was very involved and supported her daughter's love of dance, committing to a regimen of long rehearsals and recitals all over New England on daily basis for over 15 years all the way through high school. In her last 20 years Jean moved back to Providence after the passing of her husband, where she lived with her daughter, Kristen, and son-in-law, Teddy. For the last 20 years she helped raise her most precious and cherished loved ones, her grandchildren, two granddaughters, Ashley and Lily, and a grandson, Kodiak, who called her Grandma Jean.
She passed away peacefully on the morning of September 17, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry & Frances Theroux, a brother William Theroux, and her husband of 36 years, Kenneth Joseph Trottier. Jean is survived by her daughter, Kristen A. Newcomer, son-in-law, Theodore M. Newcomer Jr., her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Jean Trottier, Lily Paige Newcomer, and Kodiak Martin Newcomer. As well as her siblings, Peter Theroux, Paul Theroux, and Ann Henault. She is also survived by a large extended family of friends and neighbors that frequented the house on holidays, special occasions, and randomly throughout the year.
Services will be held on Monday September 26, 2022, from 4pm to 6pm at the J. F. Skeffington Funeral Home, 925 Chalkstone Ave, Providence RI, 02908.
