Joan K. Davies

Joan K. (Foote) Davies, 85, passed away on Tuesday March 22, 2016. Joan was surrounded by her loved ones as she passed on to join her late husband, Joseph O. Davies Sr., and son, Daniel M. Davies. She was the wonderful mother to 5 children, Mimi to 9 grandchildren and Great Mimi to 5 great grandchildren.

Born in Syracuse NY, grew up in Edgertsville NY, moved to East Greenwich RI in 1971 and then to Mechanicsburg PA in 2005. Joan is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Joe and Susan Davies of SC, Tom and Vanessa Davies of RI, Duke and Deborah Davies of RI and daughter and son-in-law Lori and Marshall Englebrook of PA, and Suzanne Fry of RI.

Joan was the fourth of five children to George Reese Foote and Edna (McLaughlin) Foote. Joan's first job was with NY Central Railroad in Buffalo. In 1952 she joined United Airlines as a Flight Attendant out of DC. She was a Realtor, Property Manager, Travel Agent and Candy Striper. She loved tennis and was fortunate to travel to many wonderful parts of the world, with her family and good friends.

Her biggest JOY in later life was watching her family grow. Her nine grandchildren are Kacy, Evan, Kila (Alex McCollough)Englebrook, Rick (wife Caitlin), Geoffrey (wife Shauna) and Christine Davies, Mitchell and Cameron Davies and Symantha Davies. Her great grandchildren are KiLee Kuhlman, Trey Wesner, Lylia Davies and Sophia and CJ Davies plus one more on the way!!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday April 2nd at 10:00 am at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd., Warwick. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Calling hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to Juvenile Diabetes, Palmetto Chapter, in Cameron Davies name, are most welcome.
