Joan C. Lema

Joan C. Lema passed away peacefully on Monday, April 17 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her daughter and her three granddaughters. Joan was 75 years old and had just celebrated her birthday with her twin sister, June Simas. She is survived by her sister Patricia Stauning. Joan was survived by her only child Karen D Lema. She leaves behind her four grandchildren, Kara Lema, Kassandra Lema, Alec Carlisle & Autumn Carlisle. And four great-grandchildren, Jayden Knight, Khloey Knight, Majula Njie & Kaysan Bah. Joan was a great example of a woman who worked extremely hard. She worked for the Newport Hospital for over 20 years as a secretary in diagnostic imaging. She was always helpful with her grandchildren & made sure her family knew how much she loved them. In her early life Joan was married to Roy Lema and gave birth to Karen. Her early years were spent at Kings Park Beach & Firehouse Pizza & working with her sister at Fifth Ward Video. She will be missed and her family will always remember her smile and big heart!
