John "Jack" J. Donnelly, Jr.

John J. “Jack” Donnelly, Jr. 80, passed away January 2, 2019.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marylou F. (Rekos) Donnelly.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Dr. John J. and G. Madonna (Harlow) Donnelly.

Mr. Donnelly was a graduate of Providence College and a Vietnam Navy Veteran.  His career was in the banking industry, where he began as a banker and retired as a Banking Executive Recruiter.

He volunteered weekly at McAuley House for many years and enjoyed sailing, skiing and playing tennis.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Shannon D. Alexander and husband Robert and Sean T. Donnelly; grandchildren, Robert and Zoe; and sisters, Pat Tardif, Betty Charland and Joan Butler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 7 ^th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich.  Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich.  Calling hours: Sunday, January 6 ^th 4-6pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to McAuley House, 622 Elmwood Ave., Providence, RI 02907.
