Joseph Briganti, Jr.

Joseph Briganti, Jr., USN, (Ret.), 73, passed away March 1, 2018. He was the husband of Carolyn L. (Northup) Briganti. Born in Providence he was a son of the late Joseph and Pauline (Carbone) Briganti.

He served 23 years in the United States Navy retiring with the rank of Chief. He was an aircraft mechanic while in the Navy, and during his 23 years he served over seas and in many foreign locations. Following his retirement from the Navy he spent 18 years on military planes as a civilian, it was his passion. He traveled to Honduras, Iraq, Kuwait as a civilian to work on and service military aircraft.

He was a wonderful man who opened his home to everyone and would do anything for anyone. He worked two jobs to make sure his family had everything they needed.

Besides his wife he is survived by three children; Lisa Dill, Melissa Setola and Joseph Briganti, III, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren. He was the brother of Lucy Heelon, Carmino and David Rosati. He was the grandfather of the late Jermemiah Cano.

Committal prayers with military honors will be held on Thursday March 8 ^th at 11:00 am in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours: Wednesday March 7 ^th from 5-8 pm in the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
