Joseph N. Capuano, Sr. "Cappy"

Joseph N. “Cappy” Capuano, Sr., 84, of East Greenwich, passed away February 6, 2019.  He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria (Scurti) Capuano.  Born in North Providence, he was a son of the late Nichola and Filomena (Borello) Capuano.

Cappy was a retired stone mason and member of the Providence Local #1.  He served in the United States Marine Corps. during the Korean War and later joined the Air National Guard, retiring with the rank of Master Sargeant.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children:  Joseph N. Capuano, Jr. and his wife Mari, Debra Ann Ajaj and Rhonda Capuano-Perlmutter, grandchildren:  Jerald, Jamail, Zackariah, Omar, Gabrielle, Myles, Jaclynn and Jennifer and six great grandchildren.  He was the brother of Sweets White and the late Thomas Capuano and Roxy Jackson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 11 ^th at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich.  Burial with military honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.  Calling hours:  Sunday, February 10 ^th 2-4pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
