Joseph Brian Wypych departed his earthly life on January 29, 2024 at his residence in Silver Creek, New York. He was the fifth child and first born son of Joseph Martin and Mary Janet (Anthony) Wypych.
Joe lived his life without language, but not without meaning. He left his loving family, and many others who knew him, with lessons that resonated during his 67 years. Knowing Joe made one realize the immense gifts each of us has been given – the abilities to understand our world and express our own humanity within it. His life was deprived of many things, but even so, he provided a lesson in the profoundness of the blessings that we have been offered: to experience life’s joys and sorrows; and especially, the ephemeral nature of it all. Our brother Joe’s life provided that example and lesson for us; and for that, we are deeply grateful.
Joseph is survived by his siblings Geraldine Schruers, Barbara Boyd, Pamela Wypych-Araghi, Sandra Lee, Christopher Wypych, Lisa McCabe, and Gregory Wypych.
Joe’s family would like to thank the many caregivers at Western New York DDSO who have cared for Joe these many years. Joe’s life is a testament to the love and care that all these dedicated staff members provide every day.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Fredonia Day Hab. Arrangements will be made by the Hill Funeral Home of East Greenwich, RI for a private mass and interment to be held in May. Joseph will be laid to rest with his mother and father at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn9DMd9E8xM&t=11s
