It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Julie "Jules" DeRosa, of Oakland, RI on Friday, May 30, 2025 at the age of 55.
Julie was born in Albany, Georgia in 1970 but would spend most of her life in Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. She was a strong, creative and compassionate force, always reaching out to help others. Her working life was spent devoted to helping others in the challenging field of mental health where she worked as a peer specialist and also as a trainer.
Julie loved to keep plants and to garden outside, lilacs were her favorite, she also loved to go to flea markets and thrift stores. She held an incredibly close bond with Jack the dog who will also miss his mom dearly. Spending time with friends and listening to music were among her many passions in life.
Julie will be forever remembered by her husband Chris, they had been together for 25 years in total, marrying in 2006. She will be sadly missed by her mom Rosalie, sister Amy, brother Dave, mother and father in law Pauline and Bob and numerous family and friends.

The Laughing Heart
your life is your life
don't let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is a light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can't beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
you are marvelous
the gods wait to delight
in you.
