It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, June Rose (Soxman) Blough, 85, of Warwick, born in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Thomas V. and June R. (Fisher) Soxman and predeceased by her younger brother Thomas J. Soxman. She lived in Warwick and passed away in the early morning hours of May 25, 2023.
June, or as everyone lovingly referred to her as Nikki (a nickname given to her by her grandfather) leaves behind her husband Philip L. Blough whom she loved and adored for over 66 years and her precious dog Bella whom she loved dearly. You never saw one without the other. A love story we all aspire to. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA they built a loving home together and moved to Rhode Island over 50 years ago where they raised their 4 children and adored seeing their 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren grow up.
Nikki enjoyed spending time with her family, especially when we were all able to travel to St. Maarten together. She treasured those trips to her favorite place on earth. She loved having Sunday dinners and hosting holidays when as many members of the family could come together and enjoy her amazing cooking alongside Dad, her adoring sous-chef. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, fashion and all things QVC. She had a real talent for making everything look spectacular. Presentation was always her first priority and she never disappointed. We will treasure all of the memories she created for us as children and as adults and her devotion to all of us.
She is survived by her daughters, Tina and her husband Richard, Gretchen and her husband Rick, Rebecca, and her son Matthew and his wife Tracey, her grandchildren, Ashley, Lilly, Kyle, Corinna, Kendall, Brittany, and Aidan, and her great grandchildren Angelina, Arianna, Aurora, Kayleigh, Aiden and Cory. Nikki also leaves behind several brother and sister-in-laws and many, many beloved nieces and nephews.
Until we meet again Mom you will be treasured, loved and remembered forever in our hearts.
Her funeral will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
