Karen Ann (Daniels) McCaughey passed away on December 15th surrounded by family at home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Karen was the beloved wife of the late Charles R. McCaughey. She was born to the late John and Corinne Daniels on November 6, 1945, she was raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and the family enjoyed summers by the water on Greenwich Bay. She married her husband “Charlie” in 1966, and they raised their family in Johnston, Rhode Island. Karen was a loving, devoted wife and mother who set an example for her daughters by pursuing higher education part-time while raising her daughters full-time. Karen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Providence College in 1990. She went on to have a rewarding career at Fleet Bank, KPMG Peat Marwick, and retired from Bank of America.
In her retirement, she and Charlie owned an antique store in Scituate, RI, and enjoyed traveling extensively. In 2012 they moved to the pleasant climate of Bluffton South Carolina where Karen enjoyed the outdoors most of the year playing tennis and gardening.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Miller of Rhode Island, Kristen Wentworth, and Melissa McKendry, both of Virginia. She also leaves behind her sister Arleen Malo, her brother John Daniels, seven grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Her sister Corinne Alsfeld precedes her.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday February 17th from 1-2pm with a Service following at 2:00 in the J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremations 925 Chalkstone Avenue Providence.
