Leah E. Petteruti

Leah Petteruti, 81, passed away on March 12, 2024 at home surrounded by people who love her. She was one of nine children born to the late Francis D. and Patricia (Maloney) Ford and the wife of the late Ross Petteruti.

Leah graduated from Cranston East and earned an associate’s degree from Johnson and Wales University. Leah worked as a bookkeeper at different companies in Rhode Island, including Trico Industries, Development Associates, and Rau Fastener. She also volunteered with the Parent Teacher Organization, serving as president at her childrens’ elementary school.

Leah was a lifelong creator and crafter. She made countless crocheted blankets and baby items and created innumerable crafts for many people in her life. Most recently, she made angel ornaments that she gave to anyone and everyone that came into her life. She was an avid reader and often had several books started in different rooms in the house. She loved Godiva chocolate, eating a good meal, her grandson, and her cats. She charmed everyone she met with her off-color jokes, kindness, and open-heartedness. She will be sincerely missed.

She is survived by her children, Amanda (Greg) and Michael (former spouse, Nancy), and her grandson (Rory). She is predeceased by her son, Christopher.

Her funeral and burial will be private.
