Linda Jean Jennings Gobern

of Providence, RI was called to rest on Monday, March 16, 2015 after a long battle with Breast Cancer. Born in Providence on August 9, 1959, Linda was the daughter of Elsie Jennings Williamson and the late Wilbur W. Jennings Sr. Linda is survived by her children David Arnold Gobern III and Randy Sheldon Gobern and 8 grandchildren. Besides her children, she is survived by 12 siblings, 3 brothers: Councilman Wilbur Jr., John and Ronald and 9 sisters Elsie “Lumpsy”, Ginny, Sandra, Alice “Porky”, Rayeanne, Denise, Beatrice, Cheryl, and Janine. Linda is preceded in death by her sister Donna-Lee Jennings. Linda also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda was a loving spirit with a great sense of humor and infectious laugh. She will be remembered by her giving ways; a true selfless individual. Linda’s last days were full of strength and dignity. She was surrounded by family and friends and was loved endlessly. Linda's funeral services will be held on Thursday in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 475 Cranston Street, Providence, RI at 12 noon. Visiting hours in the church on Thursday from 10-12pm. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence.
