Lorraine M. Vaudreuil

Lorraine Vaudreuil, (Gagnon), 94, of Saunderstown, R.I. was the wife of the late Gerald B. Vaudreuil. Lorraine is survived by daughters Lynne McDonough (late James), and Gail Smiley (David) and sons, Stephen (Fran) and James (Brenda).  She also leaves behind grandchildren Kristin McNulty, Brian McDonough, Geoff Smiley, Allison (Smiley) Stather, Scott and Nick Vaudreuil and Lauren Vaudreuil.  She was also the great grandmother of Olivia and Tommy McNulty, Birdie and James McDonough and Rogan Stather.  She was predeceased by her 3 siblings: Bernard Gagnon, Irene Correira and Janet Rowell.

Lorraine grew up in Central Falls, RI and maintained her relationships with childhood friends throughout her lifetime.  After raising her family in Swansea, MA she moved to Saunderstown, got her degree in Library Science, and then worked at the URI library.  She was an excellent cook, loved to travel, garden, read and go to Narragansett Pier Beach.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 7th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St. East Greenwich. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held prior to the mass from 9:30 am – 10:30 am in the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. In lieu of flowers donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made for research to The Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org
