With profound sadness we announce the passing of Lucia “Lucy” D’Ambra D’Onofrio, our loving and devoted grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on November 2, 2020.
She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence at Scalabrini Villa in North Kingstown, RI. She was in her 99th year.
Born in Providence, RI to Peter and Civita D’Ambra, Lucy spent her younger years working in the jewelry industry before settling down as a homemaker and wife to her beloved husband, the late Mario U. D’Onofrio. She was also predeceased by her treasured children, Carol Ann Andreozzi and Ronald D’Onofrio.
She was the beloved grandmother of Jeffrey Andreozzi (Sara) and Anthony Andreozzi Jr. (Danielle), proud great-grandmother of Carolyn, Nicholas, Joseph, Gabriella, Anthony III, Lucca Andreozzi, and Crystal Dansky. Proud aunt of many nieces and nephews, many of whom visited her often and always kept her smiling and proud of her beautiful family!
Predeceased by her siblings Michael D’Ambra, Marie Kilduff, Vincent D’Ambra, Anna Gaudioso, Joseph D’Ambra and Dorothy Nute. Also, her treasured companion Louie DeBiasio, who gave her wonderful memories and friendship.
The family of Lucy D’Onofrio would also like to thank the staff at Scalabrini Villa and Anchor Bay in East Greenwich for their love and care for Lucy in her later years.
Most of all she loved her family and instilled in all of our hearts strong values that we will cherish forever. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Burial will be private, and at a future date to be determined in Boca Raton, Florida. If you wish to make a donation in memory of Lucy D’Onofrio, please choose either the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Foundation or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in the name of her children. Thank you.
