Manuel J. Serpa

Bonita Springs, FL. - Manuel J Serpa, Jr.  71, passed away at his home in Bonita Springs, FL on July 11, 2021.  He was the devoted husband of Patricia (Moretti) Serpa for 50 years.

Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Rivers) Serpa and son in law of the late Louis and Stacia (Peplinski) Moretti.

Proud father of Nicole Voelker (Chris) of Coventry RI, Brandi Gately (Neal) of Lakewood, CO, and Mark Serpa (Michelle) of Milton, MA. He was the beloved Papa of Ella, Zachary, Ada, Hannah, Blaire & Josie.

He also leaves behind siblings AnnMarie Colicchio (Dennis) Richard Serpa (Donna), Michael Serpa (late wife Cheryl) and Steven Serpa.

Manny also leaves behind sister-in-law Vickie Moretti (Shirley) Bonita Springs, FL, and Gloria Moretti, Warwick RI and brother-in-law, the late Steven Moretti.

Manny grew up in West Warwick and worked for Electric Boat, Quonset for 38 years in the plate shop retiring in 2013 to Florida to ride his motorcycle, golf, and enjoy the sunshine!

Also, Manny was involved for many years coaching and helping to raise funds for West Warwick Girls Softball.

Manny mostly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, riding his Harley motorcycle with friends, playing pool, and especially talking with old friends about growing up in the “old days”

He was a volunteer at the Naples Zoo, member of the Crompton Veterans Association and Elks Lodge in RI and The Sons of the American Legion and American Legion Riders in Bonita Springs.

Visiting hours will be Saturday August 7, 2021 from 10:00am to 12:00pm, ending in a prayer service at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main Street, East Greenwich, RI.
