Margaret “Peg” Altomari, of North Kingstown, passed away on February 22, 2019 surrounded by her loving family, after a nine month battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was the loving mother of beloved daughter Stephanie Michelle Altomari Cavanagh and mother in law of Robert Cavanagh, Jr. She also leaves behind her precious granddaughter, Caroline Brooke Cavanagh, whom she adored. She was the daughter of the late Frank J. Parisi and Josephine (Zanni) Parisi. She was the loving older sister to twins, Joan (Parisi) Bernhardt and Jean (Parisi) Acciardo. She also leaves behind 5 nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews.
Peg worked for the State of Rhode Island for 33 years. Shortly after retirement from the State she was employed as a part time receptionist at St. Elizabeth Home, East Greenwich for 15 years, until she became ill. She leaves behind residents who became friends through the years. Peg was also a member in good standing of Alcoholics Anonymous for the past 20 years. She was very proud of this achievement.
Peg adored her family, especially Stephanie and Caroline. She also loved her friends in A.A. and would like to thank all her A.A. friends and family who prayed for her for many months. She greatly appreciated their out pouring of support and affection.
Funeral Service Friday, March 1 st at 6:00pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Visitation prior to the service 4-6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
