age 97, of Bridgton, Maine, died peacefully at home on February 20th under the care of Beacon Hospice and with her son Michael by her side. Born in Providence, RI on March 15th, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Alberic Savoie and Leonide Lemire and was the last surviving sibling of eight. Marie was preceded in death by her late husband Eugene A. Mozzoni of Providence, RI and the late Stephen Austin, of Stuart, FL.
She leaves behind four children and their spouses: Eugene Mozzoni and wife Sandra of Port St Lucie, FL, Eleanor Damico and husband Bill of Estero, FL, David Mozzoni and wife Carol of Stuart, FL and Michael Mozzoni and wife Helen, of Bridgton, ME. She has ten surviving grandchildren, Michaelle Starr, Eugene Mozzoni, Renee Jarrett, Mark Mozzoni, James Peters, Jay Peters, David Mozzoni II, Peter Mozzoni, Matthew Mozzoni, Dana Marie Mozzoni and 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren.
Marie was a hard worker and was employed for many years at Bryer Manufacturing Company and Leesona Corporation. She was a self-reliant and hard working woman, an avid knitter and reader. Family was her life and she was always the happiest at family gatherings, or when family would visit her, in her home, and she could make them one of her favorite meals. She liked doting on her grandchildren and pulling out Fort Knox for a little something when she saw them. She loved holding babies and knitted hundreds of baby sets over the years. Marie will be missed by all.
Funeral Arrangements are being handled by J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home, 925 Chalkstone Ave, Providence, RI. A wake will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 27th from 9-10am with a Mass immediately following at Blessed Sacrament Church, 239 Regent Avenue at 10:45am. Burial services will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence, 550 Wampanoag Trail, Riverside, Rhode Island.
