Marilyn McKenna Palumbo, 67, of East Greenwich, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday May 27, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband, Jim of 16 years, her mother, Muriel McKenna and the late Edmund McKenna, her sisters, Kathleen Dennard and the late Jeff Dennard, Karen Raeburn and husband Bob, Susan Kilduff and husband Bob.

Marilyn will be fondly remembered by her stepdaughters, Maeghan and Brittany Palumbo, mother-in-law Shirley Palumbo, seven nieces and nephews, along with her many cousins and friends.

Marilyn Grew up in Warwick, RI, the second eldest of four sisters. She attended Pilgrim High School, then attended CCRI in the Dental Assistant program. She then went on to work for the State of Rhode Island as a “Program Aid”, at the MHRH Department where she cared for adults that were severely handicapped.  After retiring from the State of RI she obtained her license as a CNA. She was a loving and caring person to all that came to know her.

She found the love her life (Jim) in 2004 and were married shortly after. They lived a wonderful life as they did everything together, Sailing the waters of Narragansett Bay, Skiing the slopes at Okemo Mountain, vacations, nature and their endless days of quiet walks. She loved relaxing with friends and family with a glass of wine in hand or an adult beverage.

Funeral services will be private. A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held at a date to be announced.
