Mary J. (Surtel) Grady

92, formerly of Scituate Vista Drive, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Hattie Ide Chaffee Nursing Home. She was the widow of Harold J. Grady. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (Karatnowietz) Surtel. Surviving are four daughters: Jean M Walker, Maryann White, Hope E. Jose and Joyce M. Silva, and two sons: Scott and Philip McCaffrey. Mother in law of Diane Grady. She was a mother of the late Jim Grady and the sister of the late Stanley T. Surtel. She was the beloved grandmother of seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00AM from the J. F. Skeffington Chapel, 925 Chalkstone Avenue in Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, 549 Plainfield Street at 10:00AM. Burial will be in the R.I. Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. VISITING HOURS SATURDAY 3:00 – 6:00 PM.
