Mary (Hayes) Swift, age 94 of Providence, died May 15, 2022 at home in the company of her loving family. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Maude (Murtha) Hayes and the sibling of the late Helen (Hayes) Russell, Raymond Hayes, Timothy Hayes, and Catherine (Hayes) Carvalho. She was the wife of the late William I. Swift. She is survived by her son, William (Melinda) Columbia, MO; daughter, Mary Ellen of Providence, RI; daughter, Theresa (Ken) Landenberg, PA; son, Stephen (Nicole) Buffalo, NY; son, Joseph (Jane) Warwick, RI; son, John (Ronald) Rehoboth, DE; son, Kevin (Sharon) North Providence, RI; and grandchildren William, John, Ashley, Andrew, Nicholas, Joseph, Marcus, and Alyssa. A graduate of St. Xavier’s High School, she was also a graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing and a member of St. Joseph School of Nursing Alumni Association. She worked at St. Joseph and Fatima Hospitals and Hopkins Health Center. Mary volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Injured Workers of Rhode Island. Family and friends are invited to visiting hours from 9:00-10:00 AM on Thursday, May 19th at St. Mary’s Church, 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860. This will be followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery. The family respectfully requests attendees wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Mary’s Church, 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860, St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton Street, Providence, RI 02908.
