Matilda "Lee" Tracey

Matilda “Lee” Tracey, 88, of Smithfield, formerly of East Greenwich, died peacefully surrounded by all her loving family on July 24, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late James Joseph Tracey. Lee was born in Providence, RI and died on Parent's Day which perfectly characterized her life. In addition to her devotion to her children and grandchildren, in her younger years, Lee was a ballet dancer in NYC, a dance educator, sales professional and successful business woman. She maintained her passion for dance throughout her life and taught ballet, tap and exercise well into her 80's. Lee was loved by all for her positive encouragement and enthusiasm for life. She is survived by her children Kerry Tracey (partner Greg Abate), Lisa Goldman (husband John Goldman) and Jay Tracey (wife Barbara Tracey) and her brother Dr. Ed Tyczkowski from Durham, NC., five grandchildren; Maya Tracey, Will Tracey, and Anna Tracey from Woodstock, VT and Samantha Goldman and Kate Goldman from Providence, RI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 5th at 11:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hour are respectfully omitted.
