Merton G. Nelson

Merton G. Nelson, 89, passed away on May 5, 2023. He was the husband of  Emilie (Sayles) Peckham Nelson. Born in Westford, VT he was a son of the late Clinton G. and Doris (Farnsworth) Nelson.

Besides his wife he is survived by five children: Debra Rivers – Mangiafico, Donald Nelson, Donna Cartwright, Dorene Nelson and Dean Nelson; thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and four stepsons: Thomas Peckham, Randy Peckham and Shawn Peckham. He was the father of the late Richard Nelson, Dale Nelson, Darlene Googe and Diane Nelson.

Funeral service Friday May 26, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
