Michael C. Alix, 71, passed away January 15, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Linda (Catanio) Alix. Born in Fall River, MA he was a son of the late Edmour and Mary (Cabral) Alix.
He was the owner of the former Green Oak Builders.
Michael was an avid outdoors man. He hunted in Maine, Canada, and Block Island. He loved boating and fished for giant tuna off the coast of RI and MA. His largest catch was an 835 lb. Blue Fin Tuna.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters Tracy (Alix) Gelsomino (Anthony) and Courtney Alix. He was the brother of Edmour Alix, Jr. (Marylou), Mary Michaud (Roger), Ronald Alix and the late John Alix. He was the son –in-law of Dina Catanio and the late Albert.
Funeral Friday January 20th at 9:00 am from the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich. Calling hours: Thursday January 19th from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
