Michael was educated in Providence at Central High School, where he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for his remarkable skills with the 1973 - 1974 basketball team. Michael was a skilled basketball player. All who saw him play were in awe of his extraordinary ability in the game. He was a dead eye shooter, a solid rebound, and a dangerous defensive player. His basketball success continued to an undefeated regular season and a regional championship in 1976- 1977, with the CCRI Knights. Michael’s individual statistics produced many post season awards. He later starred at Acadia University in Canada, where he was All League for three years straight and named Canadian Player of the Year by the Canadian College Coaches. Michael always made a significant impression on all those he met. His smile and laugh were infectious. He was a humble and honest man; he loved his family, friends, and his community. He will forever live in our hearts and will never be forgotten. The memorial service will be private with family and close friends due to the current circumstances regarding this pandemic.
