During the early morning hours of Thursday, July 8th, 2021, Michael Joseph Ward, age 56, passed away unexpectedly. He is survived by his daughter, Chantelle Ward of Atlanta GA, his mother, Arlene Ward of Memphis TN, and his brother Kenneth Ward also of Memphis TN. Michael is also survived by his partner Gina Highley of Pawtucket, his step-daughter Amanda Highley of Pawtucket, and his step-son Brandon of Pawtucket.
Michael was born in Providence RI and was raised in North Providence before moving to Pawtucket as a young adult. He worked as a machinist for an international packaging company for many years in addition to various security guard jobs throughout his life.
If you were lucky enough to have known Michael, you know that his whole life and soul revolved around his drum kit. He began playing drums at the young age of 8 years old and it was his true calling in life. If you were fortunate to have heard him play, you know he was as good as any famous drummer, he just unfortunately missed his "lucky break" during this lifetime.
Michael was also a dedicated sports fan. His favorite teams included the Celtics, Red Sox, and of course, the San Francisco 49ers. Michael always wanted to talk about sports and would invite anyone inside to watch an inning or two with him.
Michael had a kind, giving nature to him, and he would help anybody in need. All he wanted in this life was to play his drums, watch his sports, and hangout with loved ones. He will be missed more than words can say.
A gathering in his honor will be held at 6:000pm on Friday, July 30th at Patrick's Pub in Providence RI located at 381 Smith Street.
Arrangements entrusted to the J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home & Cremations.
