Nancy Griggs

Nancy Griggs, 79, passed away peacefully at home due to breast cancer on September 19, 2017. Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Florence M. (Mason) Ford.

She was employed at the RI Department of Labor & Training for 25 years.

Nancy was instrumental in establishing the Garden of Hope Memorial Garden at St. Joseph’s Hospital in North Providence. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, reading and had been a volunteer at Kent County Hospital and was a former board member of the Greenwich Club.

Nancy is survived by her loving children; Christine Peabody and son –in-law Allen, Michael Griggs and daughter-in-law Lisa, Deborah Griggs and partner David Laliberte and Dan Griggs. She was the grandmother to Allen Peabody, IV and his wife Cathy Peabody, Sean Peabody, Ashley Fitzpatrick and her husband James Fitzpatrick, Maxwell Griggs, Kelsey Griggs, David Laliberte, Jr., and Emily Slinko. She was the great grandmother to Aiden and Declan Peabody, Rohan and Cian Fitzpatrick, and is survived by her sister Linda Kelly.

Funeral service Sunday September 24th at 1:00 pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial will be private. Visitation prior to the service will be from 12:00 - 1:00 pm.
