Nora E. Sherman

Nora Sherman, a long time resident of East Greenwich RI, passed away at the age of 92 on June 7, 2019. She was born in Warwick, RI on August 26, 1926 to the late Millard  and Emma (Straight) Rayhill. She was the wife of the late Warren J. Sherman and loving mother to her son, the late Paul Rudolph Jr.  She is survived by her daughter, Lori-Ellen Sherman and her sisters Bertha (Rayhill) Padula, Barbara (Rayhill) Anderson and by her brother, William Rayhill.

Nora is preceded in death by her brother, Millard F. Rayhill Jr. and her sisters Emma, Madeline, Isabelle, Dot, Marion and Anna.

Nora was a talented seamstress creating treasured Christmas decorations as well as clothes and costumes for friends and family throughout the years. She loved to sing and had a great passion for all types of music, especially Big Band tunes from the 1940’s.

Nora was a bright light in this world. She was fiercely independent, open-minded and loving to everyone that was blessed to meet her. She loved holidays and would often open her doors to make sure everyone had a place to be together and celebrate.

She will be greatly missed by all her many friends and family but her light and her laugh will always remain.
