Olga C. Wilcox, 88, a lifetime resident of East Greenwich, passed away July 21, 2016. She was the wife of the late Warren D. Wilcox. Born in East Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Michele and Maddelena (Minicucci) Caluori.
Mrs. Wilcox worked for the East Greenwich Pendulum as Office Manager/Secretary for over 25 years. There she was lovingly known as Mrs. Zucchini for her love of cooking with the precious vegetable. She was featured in the Pendulum for her enthusiastic love of cooking and baking and also as an avid gardener. In addition to the Pendulum, she had worked as Office Manager for Coldwell Banker, formerly of East Greenwich.
Olga was an avid reader and loved her library on Peirce St. She was active in her community throughout her life belonging to many wonderful and varied organizations including; the Buttonwoods Diabetic Clinic, the Kent County Secretaries Association, East Greenwich Soup Kitchen, East Greenwich Sunshine Club, East Greenwich Preservation and Historical Society, East Greenwich Business and Professional Woman’s Club, East Greenwich Genealogy Society and had participated with Cornerstone of Coventry.
She was a great supporter of the Girl Scouts, having been a scout herself and then later becoming a Girl Scout Leader. She was also a supporter of Kent Hospital and a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church.
Olga loved her family and friends fiercely and with passion.
She is survived by her children: Theresa M. Reels, John R. Wilcox (Pamela) and Rachel M. Christiansen (Thomas, Jr.), her brother Mario L. Caluori, grandchildren: Carrie, Nathan, Kyle, Candice and Jason and great grandchildren Hailey, Ella, Avery, Carter, Camden and Collin. She was the sister of the late Frank X. and Romana I. Caluori.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 25th at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich. Calling hours: Sunday, July 24th 3-6pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.
