Patricia A. Allen

Patricia A. (Baker) Allen was born in Providence Rhode Island on October 9, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Anna M. (Kelley) Baker and the sister of Olga Bettencourt of Warren R.I. and Anna Duclos of Enfield Connecticut.

Patricia’s earthly struggles ended on Thursday June 19th at the Kent County Hospital as she was surrounded by her loved ones who prayed with her, and for her and told their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, that it’s ok, we will see you later. Until we meet again rest in peace.

Patricia graduated in 1968 from Central High School and went to work for the State of Rhode Island, Department of Human Services as an Intake Clerk. A job she cherished and held for 13 years.

On June 4, 1972 Patricia married her high school sweetheart, Ronald “Porky” Allen and together they had three children, Ronicia., Chelene., and Ronnie II. These three children were the “apple of their mother’s eyes”. They were affectionally known as the “three spoiled kids” of Linwood Ave and Patricia would have it no other way.

Upon leaving state employment Patricia worked for AT&T as a Customer Service Representative and during that time, Patricia and her “BFF” cousin Carole McSorley started a jewelry design business. Due to cousin Carole’s  declining health, the business closed, and Patricia moved into Carole and Bill’s home to assist in the care of her “BFF”. Upon Carole’s death Patricia remained living at 139 Overbrook Ave., caring for cousin Bill McSorley, her daughter Ronicia’s Godfather; for the remaining 21 years of her life.

Patricia A. Allen’s life of 74 years was replete with caring and unselfish acts of love and kindness, including her love for Bingo.

Now she rests peaceably in Heaven. Patricia is survived by 3 children, Ronicia M. and husband Shanmio Reyes, Chelene M., and her companion Victor “Primo” Delgado and Ronald W. Allen II, 3 nephews, 2 nieces, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
