Peter T. Gammons, Jr.

Peter T. Gammons Jr., 89 passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Linda (Belcher) Gammons. Born in Providence, RI in March of 1936, he was the son of the late Peter T. Gammons and Helen (Pelley) Gammons.

He was an Amica Insurance retiree and member of the North Vienna United Methodist Church where he and his wife spent their retired years in Mt. Vernon Maine.

He loved fishing and duck hunting with his brothers and friends, and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He kept busy working in his woodshop for many years. He also enjoyed entertaining as his alter ego “Norbert Twitchell” a Swamp Yankee humorist. It brought him great joy to make others laugh.

He was a loving father to Ashley Gammons Hamilton, Richard T. Gammons and his wife Amy. Loving grandfather to Ella, Natalie and Jack Gammons, and Grace and Benjamin Hamilton.

He is also survived by his siblings Robert W. Gammons (Meredith) and Nancy J. Hadfield (Robert). He was predeceased by his brother Allen B. Gammons (Ruth), also predeceased by his sister Sally Wheeler (Donald). He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15 at 10:30 am at the East Greenwich Methodist Church, 1558 South County Trail, East Greenwich, RI. Arrangements entrusted to the Hill Skeffington Funeral Home of East Greenwich. www.hillskeffington.com
