Phyllis Eleanor (Reed) Wiseman, beloved wife of John T. Wiseman, died peacefully in her sleep on September 12, 2025, at the age of 95.
Phyllis was born on May 18,1930 to Roland C Reed and Gladys Rivers Reed in Agawam MA and was their only child.
As a young child she loved tap dancing and riding horses and was fondly referred to as “little filly “by her family due to this passion.
Phyllis was a graduate of Bay Path College in Longmeadow MA. She met and married John T Wiseman after being introduced to him by her best friend and coworker Jane (Wiseman) James, his beloved sister. After marriage, Phyllis proudly worked as a medical secretary and was able to put her husband through college with her earnings.
Phyllis and John raised their two daughters in East Greenwich RI where they were members of the East Greenwich Yacht Club and The Varnum Continental Ladies and the Varnum Continentals respectively. They loved spending their summers as a family in Quonochontaug RI where Phyllis enjoyed oil and watercolor painting, knitting, photography, wildlife and all things Quonnie! She was also a talented knitter creating beautiful sweaters and hats for lucky loved ones and knew her way around a toolbox- happily taking on various home repair projects as they came up.
She will be greatly missed by her loving daughter and son-in law, Pamela Wiseman and David Farley of St. Leonard MD with whom she lived for the last 10 years. Mom was able to experience many new places and activities during her time with Pam and Dave.
She will also be greatly missed by her loving daughter and son-in-law Suzanne (Wiseman) Marinaro and Mike Marinaro of Andover MA and her three beloved grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas and Ava Marinaro.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sunrise at Bay Village, Annapolis Maryland, who lovingly cared for her this past year.
