Raymond W. Heroux, affectionally known to many as "Ray Ray", passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home on November 15th, 2023. He was 53 years old. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.
Ray was born on August 24, 1970, in Providence, RI, and he was the son of the Late Cheryl Ann (Bertenshaw) Heroux. He is survived by his father, Raymond G, Heroux, of Pawtucket, RI, and by his longtime friend, Terrance E. Boyce, also of Pawtucket.
Ray graduated from North Providence High School and the University of Rhode Island before owning and operating Lincoln Homes, with his father, for over 25 years. In 2013, Ray went on to graduate with the 49th class of the Providence Fire Academy, and he worked as a Providence Firefighter for nearly a decade until he suffered a career ending accident.
Ray was a fun, spirited soul who took on many passions, some of which included boating in Narragansett Bay, tailgating, and going to concerts. He found comfort and peace in being by the ocean in general, and in Newport, specifically. Newport was one of Ray’s favorite places from the time he was a young adult.
A kind and generous person, Ray’s smile was infectious, and it would light up the whole room. He cared deeply for his close circle of friends, and he made an impact on many lives. Ray will be forever missed.
His funeral service will be held Saturday November 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Woodlawn Baptist Church, at 337 Lonsdale Avenue, Pawtucket, RI 02860. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM in the J.F. Skeffington Funeral Chapel, at 925 Chalkstone Avenue Providence, RI 02908. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ray’s Go Fund Me page.
