age 56, of 10 Office Parkway, East Providence, passed away on April 11th 2019 surrounded in love by her husband, three children, Kevin Fugere and sister-in-law (Rose Lanni) at Rhode Island Hospital.
She was a long-time employee of Ames department store, previously known as Zayre, located at the time in Providence on Branch Avenue, followed by a lengthy employment as a custodian for the Providence School Department; notably, The Mount Pleasant High School.
While employed, Rebecca became very good friends with the staff and faculty as well as a countless number of students attending the school. She would often lend an ear to listen to common teenage angst and even provide a place for some of the students to wash their hair, obtain feminine products, or finish homework in her custodial closet also known to most as her custodial "room," as she always had it bright, filled with posters and anything that a lady would need. She would always be willing to help anyone in need if she had the means to do so.
Rebecca always lived with a passion for writing music: of which three of her songs became copy written in the 80's. Mostly noted song being: Love Needs No Words (music and vocals were provided by Ronald and Lorraine Perez of East Providence).
She was the daughter of the late Doris M. Enos of Providence and the sister to her late brother, Steven Rogue of East Providence.Â
Rebecca is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, John F. Lanni, her son, Jason C. Lanni of Rumford, daughter, Brandy A. Lanni of Pawtucket, daughter, Shayna L. Lanni of Cranston, as well as five grand daughters and three grandsons.
A memorial service will be held on April 26th from 4:00-6:00pm at J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home located at 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, RI 02908
The Lanni Family will be having a gathering to have a celebration of Rebecca's life the following day at the residence of Shayna Lanni and Kevin Fugere at 90 Speck Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910 from 3:00-7:00pm.
