Regina L. “Gina” (Morris) Wilcox, 74, of Narragansett, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2020, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of Donald F. Wilcox, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage marked by devotion, family, and enduring partnership.
Born on November 25, 1947, in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the cherished daughter of the late Philip J. Morris and Catherine (Higgins) Morris.
Gina was a devoted and loving mother whose greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her sons, David Wilcox and his wife Diane (Mallory) Wilcox of Ashland, Virginia; Stephen Wilcox (deceased) of Hollywood, Florida; Michael Wilcox of Attleboro, Massachusetts; and Matthew Wilcox of Narragansett, Rhode Island. She was predeceased by her daughter, Dianne Wilcox of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Heather Wilcox, Gina Lee Wilcox, Robert Boyle, Olivia Wilcox, and Sean Wilcox, and a cherished great-grandmother to Madeline, Brielle, Emmersyn, and Kylie Boyle.
Gina is also survived by her siblings, Ann Morris, Eileen Morris (deceased), Catherine Emery (deceased), Patricia Kravitz, John Morris (deceased) and was predeceased by her siblings Philip Morris and Christine Clegg.
After dedicating herself to raising her five children, Gina began a career centered on compassion and caring for others. She worked at Oakhill Nursing Home, Hospice Care of Rhode Island, and Sovereign Bank. Deeply influenced by the kindness and support her own daughter received during illness, she later became an in-home caregiver, offering comfort and companionship to those in need.
Gina will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and creativity. She found joy in making beautiful quilts and handcrafted baskets, and her holiday cookies became treasured traditions enjoyed by family and friends alike. More than anything, she will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to those around her.
