It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard “Doc” Rattenni, on Sunday, June 28, 2026. A beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Richard was affectionately known as “Doc”. He was a man whose humor and antics touched everyone he met.
Richard was born on July 27, 1943 and was the cherished son of the late Domenic Rattenni and the late Anna Rose (Tella) Rattenni. He is survived by his loving daughters, Gina Conti of North Kingstown and Stephanie Cipriano of Cranston. He was a devoted grandfather to Kenneth (and his wife Sara), Christopher, Michael (and his wife Sarah), Anthony, Frankie-Lynn, and Sincere. Richard was predeceased by his cherished grandson, the late Frank Conti. He is also survived by his sister, Norma Perrotta of North Providence, and was predeceased by his sister, Judith Rattenni.
Richard found great joy in sharing his musical talent as a member of the Doo-Wop group The Del-Rays, creating lasting memories through his performances and his love of timeless classics. A devoted sports enthusiast, he rarely missed cheering on his beloved New York Yankees or watching a great basketball game. In his leisure time, Richard enjoyed the classic humor of The Three Stooges, who never failed to make him smile, and he also looked forward to spending time at the casino, where he enjoyed the excitement and thrills.
Richard’s love extended beyond his family to his companion, Marchelle, and to his beloved pets, Micki and Baby. He especially treasured the time spent with his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Richard “Doc” Rattenni will be remembered for his laughter and the love he shared with all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
