Rita M. (Barron) Prior

97, formerly of Lubec Street, passed away Thursday, September 27th at the Home & Hospice Care of RI. She was the wife of the late Patrick A. Prior. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Theresa C. (Higgins) Barron. Rita had formerly worked at the Golden Crest Nursing Home and volunteered at the Fruit Hill Day Center and the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary. Surviving are three sons, John P., James T., and William J. Prior, a daughter Rita M. Potenza as well as 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great, great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held Monday at 8AM at the J.F. Skeffington Chapel, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Edward Church at 9:15AM. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Sunday from 4:00-8:00PM.
