Robert C. Anderson

Robert C. Anderson, 88, of East Greenwich, passed away February 4, 2019.  He was the husband of the late Deborah C. (Sullivan) Anderson.  Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Carl and Regina (Gagnon) Anderson.

Bob was an East Greenwich High School graduate, class of 1948 and was a Navy Veteran, having served during the Korean War Era. His career included working at East Greenwich Dairy, as an aircraft mechanic at Quonset Point and lastly, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service with the US Postal Service.  Bob was also a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church.

He was an avid fisherman and quahoger and enjoyed summers with his boat on Narragansett Bay.  He was also, a Patriot’s and a converted Red Sox fan.  His conversion made for the love and devotion of his wife.  Bob was a devoted husband, a loving father and adoring grandfather.

He is survived by three sons: David R. Anderson and his wife Linda, Stephen J. Anderson and his wife Deborah and their children, Paige and Leigha and Richard W. Anderson and his wife Michelle and their children, Nicolle and Brooke.  He was preceded in death by siblings: Harold, Victor and Gertrude.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 9 ^th at 12:30pm at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich.  Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich.  Calling hours:  Friday, February 8 ^th 5-7pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA of Care New England.
