Robert F. Hazelwood

Robert F. Hazelwood, 94, passed away May 27, 2018. He was the husband of Jane McGiveney-Hazelwood and the late Ethel Hazelwood. Born in Millbury, MA he was a son of the late John and May (Hall) Hazelwood.

He worked for Narragansett Electric Company for over 35 years. He was a WWII US Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Santa Fe the “Lucky Lady” in the Pacific Theater, participating in 14 major battles, and was a communicant of St. Rita’s Church in Oakland Beach.

Besides his wife he is survived by a brother William Hazelwood, 5 step children, 14 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Margaret, Arthur, John, Catherine, Mary and Ann.

Funeral service with military honors will be Thursday May 31 ^st at 11:00 am in the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial will be private. Visitation prior to the service from 10 – 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
