Robert S. Hennessey

Robert S. Hennessey passed away peacefully on September 12th at Golden Crest Nursing Centre in North Providence after a battle with cancer. He was the son of the late James L. and Norma M. Hennessey. Father of Nicole DiStefano Hennessey; grandfather to Miguel Nicholas Santos and Ysabelle Iris Pacheco. Brother of James L., Brian P., William F., Michael D. Hennessey and Diane M. Emerson. He was a lifelong resident of Lymansville North Providence, where he was a Minimum Housing Inspector for the town. His family home was along the line of RI College baseball field. The Hennessey Dairy farm originally resided on the RIC campus property. The RIC campus became a cherished place to him. His playground as a child then concerts, events and walking as a young adult. Most friends knew him as Bob or Bobby Hennessey. He cherished his friendships and was known for his sense of humor. He enjoyed spending most of his time outdoors. Some of his favorite times were spent in Lincoln Woods and Catskill Mountains in NY with his Huskies by his side. He looked forward spending time at his lifelong friends beach house in the summers and watching the sun set. If stuck indoors he loved nothing more than listening to his favorites. The Beatles, and Bob Dylan along with playing the drums, his harmonica, writing, coin collecting, and politics. Per his request there will be no funeral or services. Family and friends will plan to gather and spread his ashes where he wished to reside. Arrangements entrusted to the J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremations, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence.
