Robert F. Mcfarlane

73, of Stella Street passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Home and Hospice Care of RI. He was the husband of Barbara A (Lennon) McFarlane. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late George and Marie (Clark) McFarlane. Robert was employed by the McFarlane Pewter Casting Company as a rubber mold maker. He enjoyed yard sales and car cruises. Bob started practicing KiTo-Ryu Jui Jitsu under Sempa Bob Carney in 1973 and achieved his first black belt in 1975. He was active in teaching and became a 3rd degree in KyuDan Juijitsu Federation of the USA. He is also a 4th degree and lifetime member of the US Kodokan Federation. He will surely be missed by his fellow practitioners. Surviving besides his wife is a son Robert F (his wife Carol A) McFarlane, the papa of Robert F McFarlane, Jr., and the brother of Carolyn Palumbo and the late Shelia Averista, Rita Olivo, and Elizabeth and Martin "Bud" McFarlane. His funeral will be held Monday, November 19th at 9:00 AM from the J F Skeffington Chapel, 925 Chalkstone Avenue with a mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
