Robert D. Murphy

78, of North Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 21st. Son of the late Joseph E. Murphy and Ann H. Dobosynski Murphy and brother of the late Joseph P. Murphy, Bob was employed by HP Hood Inc., Clearfield Cheese Co. and was Territory Manager for Tate Cheese Co. He was an avid sports enthusiast and lifelong Corvette aficionado. He is survived by his sister-in-law Mary E. Murphy, his son Robert D. Murphy II, his two granddaughters, niece Leigh J. Murphy, nephew Mark H. Murphy and his beloved pets Bentley, Buddy and Rusty. A funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held at the J. F. Skeffington Funeral Home on Friday, August 24 at 11:00am. Visiting hours before the service are from 10:00-11:00am. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in his name to: The St. Jude Society, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
