Robert E. Veasey, Jr., 73, of North Kingstown, passed away August 4, 2018, after a day surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born August 12th, 1944 in Providence, RI to the late Robert and Frances (Leo) Veasey.
Bob graduated from Rhode Island Junior College in 1966 as President of the school’s first graduating class and went on to enlist in the Navy, serving his country as he toured the world. Bob sang with the Navy Band and continued his singing career by winning the Ted Mack Amateur Hour and performing in venues across New England.
Bob's lifelong career in Financial Planning began shortly after his return from the Navy. He went on to become a Certified Financial Planner, opened his own advisory firm and was named one of Rhode Island's Five Star Wealth Managers. He served as the President of the RI Financial Planning Association.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Margo (Langhoff) Veasey, his son Nicholas Veasey and wife Lisa, and daughter Allison (Veasey) Frazier and husband Tim. His five grandchildren were the greatest joy of his later years: Eleanor, Charlie, Teddy, Abigail and Jack. He was the brother of Raymond and Michael Veasey and the late Laura DeAngelis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 11th at 9:30AM at St. Francis de Sales Church, 381 School Street, North Kingstown, RI 02852. Burial with military honors will be at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Calling hours will take place on Friday, August 10th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Mother of Life Center 400 Atwells Ave, Providence, RI 02909 .
