Rosa Moscardi

Rosa (Morelli) Moscardi, 91, passed away October 25, 2021. She was the spouse of Erminio Moscardi who predeceased her in 2009. A son, Franco, predeceased her in 2001. Born in Capena (Roma), Italy, she was the daughter of Gioacchino and Grazia (Carrozzi) Morelli.

Rosa worked as a seamstress, and was a proud member of the ILGWU and by legacy the United Auto Workers Union. The youngest of seven children, Rosa was witness to the rise of Italian Fascism and survived the hardships of her war-stricken nation. She came to America with a nine-month-old son with the hopes and dreams shared by millions of immigrants, to make a better life for her children. She was proud to become an American citizen…the personification of the American dream.

She was a popular local figure, touching many who encountered her on her frequent daily walks near her home. She will be remembered for her kind heart and love of family. She is survived by a son, Nino, his spouse Elaine, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Her end of life service and burial are private.
