Ruth Arlene (Rollinson) Fay-Biggs

86, formerly of Dora Street, Providence, RI passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the South Bay Manor.  She was the wife of the late Francis “Sonny” Fay and E. Mason Biggs. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Francis L. and Mabel (Camp) Rollinson. Survived by her children David M. Biggs of New Bedford, Mass, Marcia Biggs-Whalen of Saunderstown, RI and boyfriend Joseph Rapoza and her former husband Ronald S. Whalen, Alan K. and former wife Sue Biggs of Reading, PA and Carolyn R. (Biggs) Giramma and husband Joseph of Narragansett, RI, 9 loving grandchildren: Mauree Shott (Jason), Lynzie, Leah, Wentz  (Seth), Matthew, Grace, Adam, Dale, Ali and Arlee.  Two great grandchildren Moira and Dylan.  Aunt of Cathy Gray (Murphy) and her husband Thurstan, Stephen Murphy (Vicky) Billy Murphy (Betty) Richard Murphy, Bernie Murphy, Carolyn Murphy and the late Patrick J. Murphy and several great grandnieces and nephews. She was the sister-in-law of Gladys Borelko, and sister of the late Florence (Rolinson) Murphy and her late husband Bernie Murphy, and special friend of John Mendonsa and his daughter Judy Mendonsa. Ruth was a telephone operator for the former New England Telephone Company for 28 years retiring in 1989.  She was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.  In addition, Ruth will be missed by her many cousins and friends.  She had lived in Providence for 40 years. A mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Avenue, Providence, Monday at 10:00 AM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  Burial will be in the R. I. Veterans Cemetery.  Visiting Hours in the J. F. Skeffington Chapel, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence on Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Home and Hospice Care of RI 143 Main Street Wakefield, RI 02879.Â
