Sandra A. Richards

Sandra A. Richards, 71, passed away August 2, 2025. She was the wife of the late Russell P. Richards. Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Albert R. Anderson and Doris E. (Tucker) Blackinton and stepdaughter of the late Walter W. Blackinton.

She was a past American Legion Auxiliary Department President and a supporter of various veteran’s charities. Her passion was always her kids and her grandchildren above all else. She loved keeping up with current news and going to Rhode Island for clam cakes or hot weiners. She also enjoyed listening to her favorite country songs from Alabama, George Straight and Toby Keith.

She is survived by her two children Scott R. Richards and Jennifer L. Akroyd; four grandchildren, Brandon Richards, Sarah Richards, Bethany Akroyd and Robert Akroyd, V.

Committal prayers will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Tunnel to Towers www.t2t.org ,The Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital www.stjude.org
