Sherry Machala, 71, of Fall River died September 24 after a long illness. The light of her life was her family-her son Adam Machala and his wife Brandi Bartolomeo and their two children Avery and Cali from Glen Gardner New Jersey as well as her daughter Heather Machala and her two children Jackson and Gracie from Warwick Rhode Island. She leaves behind her long term loving partner and best friend Bruce Lachance of Fall River who cared for her tirelessly during her illness. Sherry also leaves her two sisters, Harriet Johnson of Warwick and Rochelle Ryan of Cranston and her mother, Gladys Hedison of East Greenwich.
We will all miss our beautiful, loving, warm and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. Sherry was a person who gave greatly of herself and found great joy in doing that while expecting very little in return. She was a kind and generous spirit who struggled quietly through life. She had a tremendous love of family and enjoyed participating in holiday gatherings and parties, especially if there were lots of dessert options! She was always there to help if we needed her and was good natured, lively and fun. She was the best that “goodness” has to offer as she brightened our worlds with her youthful and positive energy! She loved hearing about whatever we were doing and was always interested in our exploits and proud of our accomplishments and made sure we knew that.
Our hearts are broken over the loss of our sweet Sherry after a long and difficult struggle with cancer. She leaves us with many wonderful memories of her kindness and over the top generosity. Your struggle is ended dear Sherry but our love for you is eternal. Sweet dreams our darling Sherry. We will cherish you forever.
