Theodore E. Rusin

Theodore E. Rusin, 83, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on April 2, 2026. He was the husband of Paula E. (Sweet) Barber. Born June 6, 1942 in Buffalo, NY he was a son of the late Chester and Clara (Slawinski) Rusin.

Ted served a full four years in the US Navy from 1960 – 1964, on ship as an Aviation Yeoman on the USS Lake Champlain CV-39 during the Cuban crisis. He was very proud of his service and of his country.

Ted was an independent contractor as a wholesaler in the auto industry and was associated with Sandy Motors in Coventry, RI for thirty years, Ted had many friends in the auto industry. He had previously held various other positions.

Ted loved fishing, baseball and football. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Deepest gratitude to Dr Nancy Freeman at the VA for his care and especially to the staff at Hope Health Hospice for making his end of life as comfortable as possible. Deep appreciation to David Ucci at Hill Skeffington Funeral Home for all his assistance.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son Brian Rusin of Cumberland, RI, a sister Florence Monnen and her husband John of Dunedin, FL, several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and great nephews and one great great nephew. He was the brother of the late Chester Rusin.
